Sephora By OPI Betsey Johnson Collection

Obsessed, listen! EDM music videos never do their songs justice though, so don't bother watching it.

Since Sephora was having a 20% off sale, and they hardly ever have sales, I bought myself some goodies. I didn't even know about this collection, and I was very excited to have discovered it. I LOVE Betsey Johnson's designs. I love the pinup girl styled dresses, but of course those are far out of my budget as of now. I am also obsessed with her jewelry, but I have yet to buy any for myself. For my mom on the other hand, I picked her out 2 pairs of gorgeous teardrop crystal earrings. Anyways, I bought the mini set for this collection, and this is the first set of Sephora By OPI polishes I've ever gotten. I was very pleased! Note, for all of these I did not use a topcoat, so they're not at their glossiest.

Sephora By OPI Betsey XOX
This is Sephora By OPI Betsey XOX. It's a pale dusty pink creme, and I love it! I mean, this would definitely look better on someone who was tanner than me, but I don't care and I'll still wear it. This was really opaque and it covered in 1 coat, but I used a second coat because my nails are pretty stained.

Sephora By OPI Alley Cat
Sephora By OPI Alley Cat is a fuchsia creme. This color looks pretty generic pink, but when I look back at my collection, I don't have anything that close to this. But that's looking at MY humble collection! It's a magenta/fuchsia, that is all. It actually looks more purple in person, cameras are really weird. Pretty color, and also same as Betsey XOX it was opaque in 1 coat, but I needed a second coat for good measure.

Sephora By OPI Yellow My Name Is Betsey
This is Sephora By Opi Yellow My Name Is Betsey, and wow! It's a daffodil yellow creme, and I don't usually go for yellows by this is so typical Betsey Johnson yellow that I am loving it! It's not too warm-toned, but it's bright. This is also opaque in 1 coat, but I used a second coat to even out the color.

Sephora By OPI Son Of A Gun
Sephora By OPI Son Of A Gun shimmer
Sephora By OPI Son Of A Gun is a dark turquoise with a lot of shimmer. It really reminds me of OPI I Have A Herring Problem from their Holland Collection, but unfortunately I don't have that for a comparison. It's definitely got a warm tone like it's Holland Collection cousin, and it's showing a lot more gray than it really is. It's more blue in person, my camera just sucks! The color totally reminds me of those faded jeans that have a yellow tinge in their faded areas. This was the sheerest in the collection, and I used 3 coats here. That bald spot is just because my fingers touched while it was wet...oops!

Sephora By OPI Too Too Turq
Sephora By OPI Too Too Turq shimmer
Sephora by OPI Too Too Turq is a turquoise creme, with a subtle green shimmer. I was so impressed and surprised by this one! I totally did not expect that green shimmer until after I put it on. I tried really hard to capture it, but the sun was already gone by the time I started swatching. I will probably take another picture of this when I wear this again, and the sun is out. This shimmer was actually noticeable indoors too, it was just not a good day to take pictures. This was opaque in 1 coat, but I used a second coat because I can.

Sephora By OPI Pushing Your Luck
This is Sephora By OPI Pushing Your Luck. Oh my god I died. I just love my reds so much...my precious. This is a red jelly/creme; 1 coat looks like a jelly, 2 coats looks like a creme. It's a vibrant red, perfect pinup!

The formula for all of these were perfect! I've never used Sephora By OPI before, so I don't know if they're always like this...but these all went on so perfectly. I actually did these in such a rush, trying to beat the nightfall because I got this collection after I came back from work and I was too excited about it. I think I spent at most 30 seconds applying each color, and they came out so clean. My favorites would probably be Yellow My Name Is Betsey and Too Too Turq. But overall, I am really liking this whole set, toodles!

  3. Wow, I actually really love the pale pink, Betsey XOX. I wouldn't have thought that would be the winner for me, but it's gorgeous!
